Salesforce Says Agentforce Hit $1.5 Billion Run Rate, Unveils Claudeforce With Anthropic
Salesforce's Q2 earnings showed Agentforce annualized revenue up 240% year over year, and the company used the report to launch Claudeforce, a Salesforce-in-Claude plugin built with Anthropic for sales teams.
Salesforce reported fiscal second-quarter revenue of $11.35 billion, up nearly 11% year over year, and said annualized revenue from its Agentforce AI agent line topped $1.5 billion, up 240% from a year earlier, according to the company's August 26 earnings release. Combined annual recurring revenue from Agentforce and Data Cloud AI products reached almost $3.9 billion, up more than 210% year over year. The same day, Salesforce and Anthropic announced Claudeforce, an expanded partnership that embeds Salesforce data and workflows directly inside Claude.
What Agentforce's numbers show
The $1.5 billion run rate is Salesforce's clearest public evidence yet that its agent platform, launched at scale in late 2024, has moved past pilot usage into recurring revenue at meaningful scale, though it remains a small fraction of the company's roughly $46 billion annual revenue base. Salesforce also raised full-year guidance by $200 million to $46.1–$46.4 billion, and CEO Marc Benioff used the earnings call to push back on "SaaSpocalypse" concerns — the worry that AI agents and chat interfaces would erode demand for traditional SaaS applications like Salesforce's own CRM.
Claudeforce and Salesforce in Claude
The centerpiece of the Anthropic announcement is "Salesforce in Claude," a plugin for Claude that ships with 37 prebuilt sales skills covering tasks like meeting preparation, deal-health review and pipeline analysis, letting sellers query and update live CRM data without opening Salesforce directly. The plugin is available to select pilot customers now, with an open beta planned for September 2026 and additional prebuilt skills expected later in the year. Benioff framed the tie-up as combining "the world's #1 AI and #1 CRM."
Why it matters
Pairing a record earnings beat with a new Anthropic partnership lets Salesforce make two arguments at once: that Agentforce is generating real, fast-growing revenue, and that deepening ties with a leading model provider — rather than being disintermediated by one — is the company's answer to fears that conversational AI interfaces could bypass CRM software entirely. For the broader agent market, Claudeforce is a notable example of an enterprise software incumbent building official, deeply integrated skills into a third-party AI assistant rather than only offering competing agents of its own, a pattern likely to be tested by other large SaaS vendors as agentic interfaces mature.
